Matthew Sweeney is a Senior Scientist for Chemical and Biological Defense Programs The scope of this work also included OCONUS deployment for training and integration of the workflow into government-sponsored laboratories.
In his role at NSRI, Sweeney serves as a senior scientist in the chemical defense directorate, supporting countering weapons of mass destruction (CWMD) efforts for the DOW and other government agencies.
Sweeney started his career at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL). During his tenure, he supported efforts in detection and defeat of chemical warfare agents, tag track and locate technologies, design and development of test fixture technologies, and sensor integration for fielded missions.
Sweeney received his master’s degree in chemical engineering from Johns Hopkins University and his bachelor's of science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
