Sarah Arten serves as Project Specialist at the National Strategic Research Institute at the University of Nebraska, the University Affiliated Research Center designated by the U.S. Department of War and sponsored by U.S. Strategic Command.
As part of the institute's strategic communications and engagement team, Arten leads event planning and facilitates, coordinates and executes engagement strategies for the institute's brand communications and faculty and student engagement programs.
The NSRI Academic Network serves as the institute's primary campus engagement strategy, aiming to amplify the university’s research contributions to the DOW and other federal agencies with national security missions by engaging leading researchers from each of the four NU campuses.
Arten previously worked as an analyst in new business processing, compliance and training for Allstate Insurance as well as over a decade in retail sales and brand ambassadorship.
Arten holds a master’s degree in integrated media communications and a bachelor’s degree in theatre performance, both from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
