Radiological Response to Terrorism Class

This course will give the students the knowledge and skills in radiation principles and monitoring. Students will explore the tactical and resource requirements necessary to respond to a terrorist incident that involves a radiological incident and improvised radiological device. Specific topics addressed will include fundamental principles of radiation, monitoring and detection, dose calculations and ALARA, decontamination, medical effects of ionizing radiation, nuclear threat and protective measures, and an awareness of radiological and nuclear devices.
