NU President visits NSRI National Capital Region Laboratory & Conference Center

Via LinkedIn — Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., president of the University of Nebraska System (NU), visited the NSRI National Capital Region Laboratory and Conference Center in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, on September 24, 2024.
The facility is conveniently located approximately five miles from Fort Meade, 20 miles from the Pentagon and 30 miles from the headquarters of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. It boasts leading collaboration technology and multiple meeting rooms, and is currently undergoing a 15,000-square-foot expansion to build out a chemical wet lab, analytical chemistry laboratory and a rapid prototyping engineering space. The facility also offers a 4,300-square-foot flex space, which is often used for scenario-based exercises, tabletop exercises, work group discussions, laboratory trainings and programs and technology reviews and demonstrations.
NSRI serves as the DOD-designated University Affiliated Research Center of U.S. Strategic Command and NU. Through the institute leading scientists deliver innovative national security research, technology, product and strategy development, training and exercises, and subject matter expertise to the DOD and other federal agencies.
